The Festival weekend provides an ideal opportunity for traditional boat owners to catch up with old friends and acquaintances, to share experiences, to compare notes and to show off their hard work restoring and maintaining their treasured traditional boats.
Our welcoming and friendly local boating enthusiasts will ensure participants enjoy the weekend on our pristine and now famous waterways.
Below is the 2024 program to give you an idea of what to expect in 2025!

2024 FESTIVAL PROGRAM:
Friday 8 November
- 6:00pm Welcome BBQ $20pp (BYOG) at Southern Slipways (Jim’s shed)
- 8:00pm Welcome & Briefing of weekend activities
Saturday 9 November
- 9:00am Boats circling Fosters Bay ready for the morning cruise. 9:30am Start morning cruise
- 10:15am Start Morning Tea on the water $15pp, pick-up from the Huon Islander.
- 11:00am Start the Navigator’s Challenge - forms to be completed & handed in to Jim’s Boatshed by 3:00pm.
- 12:00pm Lunch (buy your own) at Salt Café, Narooma Marina or bring your own and have it on your boat.
- 1:00pm Jazz at the Boatsheds with local band JAZZ ALLEY
- Sticky Beak at the boats on the Marina & Boatsheds
- All day - Montague Arts Society exhibition.
- 6:00pm Pre Dinner Drinks at Club Narooma
- 6:30pm Whale Coast Realty Gala Dinner in the Montague Room $55pp.
- 8:00pm Auction, ‘Malcom McKay’ Best Boat Award, Door Prize.
Sunday 10 November
- 9:00am Boats circling on Forsters Bay ready for the ‘Grand Parade’
- 9:30am Start the journey to the Narooma Boardwalk
- 10:00am Parade along the Boardwalk following the ‘BestBoat Award’ winner and circle the Boardwalk for the crowd of onlookers.
- 11:00am Boats return to Narooma Marina and Sticky Beak at the boats on the Marina & Boatsheds.
- 12:00pm Lunch (buy your own) at Salt Café, Narooma Marina or bring your own and have it on your boat.
- 1:00pm Thank you and farewells.
FESTIVAL DINNER
Our annual Festival Dinner is a very popular feature of the Festival.
It is always best to book early if you wish a seat at the dinner - every year has been a sell-out so far.
