NAROOMA BOATS AFLOAT FESTIVAL 8 NOVEMBER - 10 NOVEMBER 2024

Information for entering this year's festival (our 17th) is below.


2024 FESTIVAL DETAILS AND PRICES:

The costs this year, as always, have been kept as low as we can:

  • Friday evening welcome BBQ - $20pp
  • Saturday morning tea on the water - $15pp
  • Saturday evening Dinner and Auction - $55pp

These prices also help cover our general running costs such as:

  • marina fees,
  • live music,
  • (ever increasing) insurance costs

NOTE: Sunday lunch is buy your own or bring it to have on the boat at the Narooma Marina.

PROPOSED 2024 FESTIVAL PROGRAM:

Friday 8 November

    • 6:00pm Welcome BBQ $20pp (BYOG) at Southern Slipways (Jim’s shed)
    • 8:00pm Welcome & Briefing of weekend activities


Saturday 9 November

    • 9:00am Boats circling Fosters Bay ready for the morning cruise. 9:30am Start morning cruise

    • 10:15am Start Morning Tea on the water $15pp, pick-up from the Huon Islander.

    • 11:00am Start the Navigator’s Challenge - forms to be completed & handed in to Jim’s Boatshed by 3:00pm.

    • 12:00pm Lunch (buy your own) at Salt Café, Narooma Marina or bring your own and have it on your boat.

    • 1:00pm Jazz at the Boatsheds with local band JAZZ ALLEY
    • Sticky Beak at the boats on the Marina & Boatsheds
    • All day - Montague Arts Society exhibition.
    • 6:00pm Pre Dinner Drinks at Club Narooma

    • 6:30pm Whale Coast Realty Gala Dinner in the Montague Room $55pp.
    • 8:00pm Auction, ‘Malcom McKay’ Best Boat Award, Door Prize.

Sunday 10 November

    • 9:00am Boats circling on Forsters Bay ready for the ‘Grand Parade’
    • 9:30am Start the journey to the Narooma Boardwalk
    • 10:00am Parade along the Boardwalk following the ‘BestBoat Award’ winner and circle the Boardwalk for the crowd of onlookers.
    • 11:00am Boats return to Narooma Marina and Sticky Beak at the boats on the Marina & Boatsheds.
    • 12:00pm Lunch (buy your own) at Salt Café, Narooma Marina or bring your own and have it on your boat.
    • 1:00pm Thank you and farewells.

FESTIVAL DINNER

Our annual Festival Dinner is a very popular feature of the Festival.

It is always best to book early if you wish a seat at the dinner - every year has been a sell-out so far.

1) I understand that participating in the 'Narooma Traditional BoatsAfloat' (event) involves boating on waterways used by other people and boats, and I am aware of the hazards involved. The hazards include, but are not limited to condition of participant's boat, equipment, moorings, wharves, boat ramps, carparks, actions of participants, spectators, organiser's personnel and weather conditions. In my judgement I have sufficient competence and experience to participate safely.

2) I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin and assigns as follows;

a) WAIVER, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, and all other foreseeable risks or claims or actions of any kind, whatever and however occurring which I at any time had or have as a result of or in connection with, directly or indirectly, my participation in and traveling to and from this event the following persons or entities; Event organisers, Narooma BoatsAfloat, event sponsors, volunteers, community organisations and all State, Federal and Local Government authorities in which the event may be staged and their (its) respective officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, agents and volunteers.

b) INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the persons or entities mentioned in paragraph 2(a) above from any and all liabilities, claims or actions whatever or however caused arising as a result of or in connection with, directly or indirectly, my participation in and traveling to this event.

3) I agree that I enter the above mentioned vessel in the event voluntarily, and that I am responsible for the control, safety and insurance of that vessel and also for the safety of all persons aboard for the duration of the event. I also agree to adhere to all requirements for vessels in smooth waters and any added safety conditions promulgated by the organisers.
